The Summer Loans policy in 2012 will be the same as it has been in the last two years. The length of the loan periods will be different for 7-day and 28-day loan books so please review the following summary carefully, review your borrower record during the vacation to confirm return/renewal dates and check with Library staff if you are unsure of any details.
A summary of the policy is given below and further detail is available in a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
7-DAY LOAN ITEMS
From Friday 25 May, all 7-day loan items that are issued or renewed on or after that date will be due back on Wednesday 3 October, the middle of the first week of the new academic year.
However, please take care to check your borrower record to make sure that any 7-day loans have been renewed to the October date BEFORE you leave campus.
If there are reservations on any loan item or if you have fines over £10 you will not be able to borrow the 7-day loan items for the entire vacation.
28-DAY LOAN ITEMS
All 28-day loan item loan periods are UNCHANGED. These books will need to be reviewed, renewed or returned on or before the due date every 28 days as normal throughout the Summer vacation period.
All items can be reserved at any time during the vacation. Reserved items cannot be renewed to extend the loan period. So please be sure to renew your loans before the due date in case you need to make arrangements to return the books in person or by post.
Borrowers will be fined for late returns or late renewals throughout the vacation period as normal.
Check your borrower record before leaving campus to confirm the due dates for all your loans and return or renew books as necessary. Issue Desk staff can advise and can be contacted throughout the vacation period via:
- Email the Ask a Librarian service
- Telephone the Issue Desk on +44 (0) 1225 385000 (voicemail service also available)
- Or contact your Subject Librarian
