How do you manage your research data? Survey now live!

Do you know anyone who had trouble accessing their research data during the recent email outage?  How data is stored and cared for is increasingly important for all researchers.

In order to inform University policy on what researchers actually do with their research data and what their needs are, this survey aims to gather a variety of details on research data practices.

Without this evidence we only have anecdotal reports on data storage, sharing and preservation.  We need responses from PIs, research group members, PhD students and anyone else generating research data.

The survey takes about 15 minutes (25 questions).  It will be available from: https://www.survey.bath.ac.uk/daf after Wednesday 16th March 2011.

We would like volunteers for a follow-on interview of about 30 minutes to gather more specific details (contact us on opus-support@bath.ac.uk if you can help).

Information gathered from both the survey and interview will be reported anonymously.
