The Society of Automotive Engineers’ Digital Library has undergone a major redesign, and you can now access the new and improved platform. One very useful new feature is that searches now default to retrieving only those papers available from the database in full text (over 35,000 SAE Technical Papers from 1998 on). It’s also compatible with Google Chrome and Safari.
SAE Digital Library has introduced a more powerful search engine, and improved indexing allowing you easily refine and expand your results and link through to related papers. PDFs are also more quickly accessible – downloadable in one click from the search results list or document details page. You should generally find locating papers a more intuitive, streamlined and user friendly experience.
Other upgrades include the ability to download references to reference management software, as well as to share papers of interest via email, Twitter, Facebook and other social media.
The new interface is available now, and will replace the old platform entirely at the end of July. More information on the new platform is available from the new SAE user guide. Please contact the Mechanical Engineering Librarian, Hilary Tacey, with queries or feedback.
