SCOPUS training for research postgraduates

A new session on SCOPUS has been added to the PGSkills programme. SCOPUS is an abstract and citation database from Elsevier, indexing over 19,000 journals from all subject areas, patents from 5 patent offices and scientific web pages.  Links are available to full text articles for publications the Library subscribes to, and to patents and free web resources.  Scopus is also the service being used by HEFCE to provide citation details for panels using this for the REF2014.

This workshop will give you a detailed overview of the database, what it covers and how best to search it.  We will also look at setting up alerts and at the citation information and tools available.

You can register for the session online via the Researcher Development Unit’s PGSkills pages. It will take place in the Library’s Level 1 Training Room at 10:15 – 12:15 on Friday 20 April.
