Library card printing unavailable Thursday 5 May morning

Due to planned upgrades to the University-wide access control system, the Library Issue Desk will be unable to produce new or replacement library cards for a period of time on Thursday 5 May.

It is expected that the upgrade will be completed in the morning.  However, please note that any unexpected delays or problems will prevent the production of Library cards for the remainder of the day.

As well as providing the means to borrow books and access the University print and copy facilities, Library cards are closely linked to the access-control systems in use by academic and service departments as well as accommodation and catering facilities.   As a consequence, upgrades to the access control software can have an adverse impact on our ability to produce library cards.
